Please, read carefully!
When applying, please, be advised that the permission to enter Russia is a courtesy of the State. The Consular Section of the Embassy in certain cases reserves the right to consider your visa applications for as long as it is necessary.
- Visa can be denied if the Consul has serious reasons to believe that the Applicant's visit to Russia is not desirable, and the disclosure of the reason for the denial can be withheld.
- Visa application fees are not subject to reimbursement in case of subsequent refusal.
- Visa processing starts only after all visa documents are submitted.
- In order to enjoy your visit to Russia, it’s important for you to apply for the right type of visa, the one that corresponds to the real purpose of your trip.
PRIVATE (HOMESTAY) VISA
Private (home stay) visa can be single- or double entry and valid for the period of no longer than 90 days.
- Private (home stay) visa is issued on the basis of an official invitation from Russia (type 1)
- Private (home stay) visa for an immediate family member (husband, wife, minor child) of the Russian citizen with residency in Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados (type 2)
- Private (home stay) visa in case of serious illness or death of an immediate family member (type 3)
Documents required for a private visa (type 1)
- A completed visa application form (one per person) with one passport-size photo glued to the appropriate space of the form.
The form is to be completed accurately and completely, every question must be answered (if a question does not apply, please type N/A. The form should bear the original signature of the Applicant, all dates should be written following the European standard (day/ month/ year). Please state clearly your contact telephone number and e-mail. Incomplete forms will be returned unprocessed. (When you print the application form, choose Letter paper size).
- A valid passport (original) and a copy of its vital pages with bearer’s personal data. Passport must be valid for six months beyond the visa expiration date and contain at least two blank pages marked “visas”, otherwise the passport and documents will not be accepted.
- An original letter of invitation. It can be obtained by your relatives or friends (Russian citizens) from a local office of the Russian Federal Migration Service or its local offices located in the Russian Federation only. If you wish to visit your friends or relatives (foreign citizens) currently working or studying in Russia they should obtain an official invitation from the Russian hosting organization (see business visa instruction)
- A cover letter specifying itinerary, dates of entry and departure, purpose of your trip, cities to be visited in Russia.

In accordance with the Visa Agreement signed by the Russian Federation and the European Union citizens of all EU countries except Ireland, Great Britain are to submit the following fees for all types of visas:
6 - business days – 50 USD
1-3 business days – 100 USD

Documents required for a private visa (type 2)
This visa type specifically applies only to individuals whose husband or wife is a Russian citizen with permanent residence in Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and in case they intend to go to Russia together.
This type of visa does not require an official Invitation from Russia.
Documents required for this type of visa
- A special application of the Russian citizen ( husband or wife or/ parent of a minor child) to the Embassy with a copy of a valid Russian passport and document confirming his/ her residency in Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada.
- Applicant’s valid passport (original). Passport must be valid for six months beyond the visa expiration date and contain at least two blank pages marked “visas”, otherwise the passport and documents will not be accepted.
- A copy of your husband/wife or minor child’s passport vital pages (with personal data and photo).
- A completed visa application form (download the form here) (one per person) with one professional passport-size photo glued to the appropriate space of the form. (When you print the application form, choose Letter paper size).

- A copy of Marriage Certificate or Child’s Birth Certificate.
- A copy of round trip air tickets for applicant – Russian citizen and his family – Foreign citizens.
- A notarized non-objection letter from the other parent (foreign citizen) permitting the child to travel to Russia with his/her parent (Russian citizen).

Private (home stay) visa in case of serious illness or death of an immediate family member (type 3)
In case of serious illness or death of your relative this type of visa can be obtained upon submitting a certified medical record from a Russian clinic or a copy of Death Certificate along with the documents providing the evidence of immediate family (a copy of Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate etc).
- A special application specifying the purpose of your trip, dates of entry and departure, address where you intend to stay.

Attention, former citizens of the USSR
При обращении за визой граждан бывшего СССР заявителю необходимо предоставить документ, подтверждающий отсутствие у него российского гражданства (копия выездной визы из СССР, копия заграничного паспорта СССР с отметкой о выезде на постоянное жительство до 2 февраля 1992 года, паспорт с указанием гражданства одной из стран СНГ, либо иной документ, свидетельствующий об отсутствии у заявителя российского гражданства).
Обращаем внимание на то, что согласно положениям статьи 6 Закона Российской Федерации "О гражданстве Российской Федерации" за лицом, состоящим в российском гражданстве, не признается принадлежность к гражданству другого государства, если иное не предусмотрено международным договором Российской Федерации. Поэтому указанные лица рассматриваются только в качестве российских граждан и должны въезжать в Россию и выезжать из нее только по действительным российским паспортам.
Attention to applicants who are not citizens of Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada
You may apply for a visa at the Embassy if you have a long term non-immigration legal status in the above mentioned countries valid for more than 3 months . The holders of tourist visas or short term visitors to the above mentioned countries have to apply for a Russian visa in the country of their residence only.
On the basis of reciprocity mandatory medical insurance for all period of stay is required for the citizens of Estonia, Finland, as well as the citizens of Schengen Agreement Member-States.
Any Applicant may be interviewed by Consul if necessary.
If applying by mail (all visa documents should be sent to the Consular Section: 3 Public Road, Kitty, Georgetown, Guyana and, please, specify “attention: Consular Section”), you should enclose a completely addressed and stamped return envelope or prepaid waybill, bearing your account number with the postal service and showing yourself as both shipper and recipient regardless of delivery address.
If you fail to follow the above mentioned requirements, your visa application will not be processed. Unacceptable or incomplete documents will be returned by regular mail.
Please, check your visa (passport number, date of birth, validity). The Consular Section would not be responsible for any mistakes in the visas, which were not brought to our attention prior to your departure from Guyana (Barbados, Grenada Trinidad and Tobago, St. Vincent & The Grenadines).
